However, the very useful blog aggregator <a title=\"Early Modern Commons\" href=\"http:\/\/commons.earlymodernweb.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Early Modern Commons<\/a> is still online.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"English Broadside Ballad Archive, University of California at Santa Barbara\" href=\"http:\/\/ebba.english.ucsb.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English Broadside Ballad Archive<\/a> &#8211; A comprehensive, very well researched and presented collection of early modern English popular songs and poems, some of which have accompanying recordings.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"English Prose Drama Database\" href=\"http:\/\/www.letrs.indiana.edu\/eprosed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English Prose Drama Database<\/a> &#8211; Over 1,600 plays from 350 authors, from the Renaissance to the end of the nineteenth century.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Historical Thesaurus of English\" href=\"http:\/\/libra.englang.arts.gla.ac.uk\/historicalthesaurus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Historical Thesaurus of English<\/a> &#8211; A &#8216;test website&#8217; run by Glasgow University, based on the Historical Thesaurus of the Oxford English Dictionary. <a title=\"Wikipedia: Historical Thesaurus of the Oxford English Dictionary\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Historical_Thesaurus_of_the_Oxford_English_Dictionary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wikipedia entry<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Locating London's Past\" href=\"http:\/\/www.locatinglondon.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Locating London&#8217;s Past<\/a> &#8211; ambitious project mapping London&#8217;s records onto Rocque&#8217;s map.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"London Gazette\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thegazette.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">London Gazette<\/a> &#8211; The official journal of record for the UK, with the entire run dating back to the 1660s digitised, if somewhat unevenly. <a title=\"Wikipedia entry for the London Gazette\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/London_Gazette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wikipedia entry<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"London Lives\" href=\"http:\/\/www.londonlives.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">London Lives<\/a> &#8211; 240 thousand manuscripts relating to London life.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Many Headed Monster\" href=\"http:\/\/manyheadedmonster.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Many Headed Monster<\/a> &#8211; Excellent collective blog covering &#8220;&#8216;the unruly sort of clowns&#8217; and other early modern peculiarities,&#8221; and doign some hard thinking about historiography.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Old Bailey Online\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oldbaileyonline.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Old Bailey Online<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;A fully searchable edition of the largest body of texts detailing the lives of non-elite people ever published, containing 197,745 criminal trials held at London&#8217;s central criminal court.&#8221; Best digital history project today; and a frightening time sink if you&#8217;ve any interest in London&#8217;s people.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Open Library\" href=\"http:\/\/openlibrary.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Open Library<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;One web page for every book.&#8217; Indispensable for reference hunting and gathering.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Open Street Map\" href=\"http:\/\/www.openstreetmap.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Open Street Map<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;the free editable map of the whole world&#8221;, used here for its London data.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Past Tense Publications\" href=\"http:\/\/www.past-tense.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Past Tense<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;a publishing project based in South London, exploring London radical history.&#8221; The core of the South London Radical History Group, with some fine histories-from-below online.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/statutes.org.uk\/site\/\">The Statutes Project<\/a> &#8211; putting historic British legislation online.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Transpontine Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/transpont.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transpontine<\/a> &#8211; &#8216;on the other (i.e. the south) side of the bridges over the Thames; pertaining to or like the lurid melodrama played in theatres there in the 19th century&#8217;.
