A crypt from the religious house still exists, in Magpie Alley.<\/p>\n<p>Henry Harben&#8217;s <a title=\"Harben, Dictionary of London\" href=\"http:\/\/www.british-history.ac.uk\/source.aspx?pubid=3\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Dictionary of London<\/em><\/a> (1918) <a title=\"Harben, Dict. of London: Whitefriars\" href=\"http:\/\/www.british-history.ac.uk\/report.aspx?compid=63372#s17\">states<\/a>: &#8220;The precinct comprised the area from Whitefriars Street east to Temple Lane west, and north from the Thames almost to Fleet Street, in Farringdon Ward Without.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lombard Lane was previously Lombard Street, and part of the precincts (<a title=\"Harben, Dict. of London: Lombard Street\" href=\"http:\/\/www.british-history.ac.uk\/report.aspx?compid=63209#s10\" target=\"_blank\">Harben<\/a>; see also Harben&#8217;s entry for <a title=\"Harben, Dict. of London: Pleydell Court\" href=\"http:\/\/www.british-history.ac.uk\/report.aspx?compid=63274#s5\">Pleydell Court and Street<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Also shown is another sanctuary, Salisbury Court, once the place and Inn of the Bishops of Salisbury.
